Short observations, occasional analyses, and the arguments worth writing down. From political and civic work in the East Bay.
The notebook is being set up.
Field notes will start landing in the weeks ahead. The plan is short pieces — usually 500 to 1,500 words — about the kind of thing you'd want to argue about over coffee with a campaign manager or a parks commissioner.
Some will be tight analyses of recent races. Some will be reactions to data that surprised me. Some will be questions about how civic projects actually get built in the East Bay.
Not a newsletter exactly. Not a blog exactly. Closer to a working journal that happens to be public.
Until the notebook opens, the easiest way to know when a piece publishes is to follow along directly.
